Retiring Vertex GeoCodes

Periodically, in some Monthly Update packages, Vertex announces the retirement of GeoCodes. This procedure walks you through the steps for retiring and replacing Vertex® GeoCodes and rebuilding Tax Registers once the GeoCodes have been retired. Do not run this process until all users are logged off the system.

Note:  This form does not use Client Access Group Security.

To retire and replace GeoCodes:

1.

Click Back Office .

2.

From System|Action, select Retire GeoCodes.

3.

Click the Retired GeoCode link and select the GeoCode you want to retire.

4.

Click the Replacement GeoCode link and select the GeoCode to replace the retired one.

5.

Click Run.

6.

Rebuild the tax registers.
